Joyful Inspiration Retreat for Abuse Survivors

In July I had the honor of attending the Joyful Inspiration retreat in Palestine Texas to help my friend Michelle Taylor with her GLAD Packets. GLAD Packets consist of an assessment that a person can take to find out their spiritual giftings and talents. We were offering these assessments to the abuse survivors to help them to move forward in walking out their destiny and God-given purpose. There were various activities offered to the women including an art class where we used a straw to paint-blowing through the straw-that is the picture you see and some of the creations that were produced. There was also a self defense class and vision board workshop.

I feel very blessed to have met everyone. From the time I walked through the doors of Joyful Inspiration God put amazing women in my path. The home just embraced me. I woke up the morning of the retreat seriously feeling hopeless and afraid. I forced myself to come knowing that I had asked God to help me, and that I needed to listen and follow. From the get go I met Danna, her answering my questions and me having the courage to ask opened up new possibilities with an opportunity to experience something new and to have something to look forward to.
The art class was like a mixer and the use of breath with the straws and paint really helped to release emotions. The sharing and laughter and creative energy was very relaxing!
Sherri was great, she intuitively connected to the group and helped me get in touch with my body and mind.
The self-defense class was fun with my partner and I felt empowered!
Jenea is a gift and her hospitality and use of her home and energy is so healing. I look forward to seeing her visions coming to fruition!
